Duties

• Microbiology Education: Provide a comprehensive microbiology curriculum for general medical, pharmaceutical, and dental doctorate students.
• Specialized Training: Offer specialized microbiology units tailored for international master's degree students. 

Activities

• Deliver a full range of microbiology courses to both international general doctoral and master's degree students. 

Facilities

 Research Laboratory

The Research Laboratory is equipped with:

• Incubators: Two units for bacterial culture.
• Class II Biological Safety Cabinet: Ensures safe handling of pathogenic microorganisms.
• Anoxamate Device: Facilitates anaerobic bacteria cultivation.
• Bain-Marie Devices: Two units for maintaining temperature-sensitive samples.
• Sterilization Equipment: One autoclave for sterilizing laboratory instruments.
• Refrigeration Units: Five refrigerators for the storage of microbial samples and culture media.

Medical Laboratory

The Medical Laboratory features:

• Refrigeration Units:
• Two large static refrigerators for sterile and non-sterile culture media.
• Two standard refrigerators for microbial banks, reagents, and solutions used in microbiological tests.
• A freezer specifically for storing antibiotic discs and materials requiring sub-zero temperatures.
• Incubators: Two for maintaining optimal growth conditions.
• Class II Biological Safety Cabinet and Chemical Hood for safe laboratory practices.
• Teaching Equipment: Projector with screen and whiteboard.
• Microscopy Equipment: Sixteen optical microscopes and a microbiology slide staining set.
• Autoclave for sterilization purposes.

Molecular Laboratory

The Molecular Laboratory is equipped with advanced technology, including:

• Class II Biological Safety Cabinet for safe handling of samples.
• PCR Machine (Thermal Cycler) and Real-Time PCR (qPCR) for nucleic acid amplification.
• Centrifuges: Microcentrifuge and Falcon centrifuge for sample separation.
• pH Meter for analyzing sample acidity.
• NanoDrop Spectrophotometer for quantifying nucleic acids.
• Block Heater (Dry Bath) and Laboratory Shaker for sample incubation and mixing.
• Gel Electrophoresis Equipment: Includes a tank and power supply for DNA analysis.
• Pulsed Field Electrophoresis (PFGE) Machine for separating large DNA molecules.
• Incubators and Shaker Incubators for controlled sample growth.
• Laboratory Refrigerators (4°C) and Freezers (-18°C and -80°C) for sample preservation.
• Trans-UV Illuminator and Gel Documentation Machine (Gel Doc) for visualizing electrophoresis results. 

Services

 Research Laboratory

The Research Laboratory supports various projects and theses in microbiology, excluding molecular studies. Research activities are conducted daily, fostering an environment of continuous inquiry and innovation.

Medical Laboratory

The Medical Laboratory serves as a venue for educational classes across all basic and master's degree programs. It maintains an active schedule throughout office hours, ensuring accessibility for students and faculty alike.
